Do you know Napoleon Dynamite?

Well my family moved around a lot when I was a kid up till about age 7. I was born in Walla Walla, Washington. Then my family moved to Salem, Oregon. We then moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where I later served a mission for my church. We then moved to Jacksonville, Florida. Then on to Tempe, Arizona. So we got around when I was a young lad.

But when we lived in Salem, Oregon we went to the same church as the Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) and his family. John's dad James Heder was our doctor. Helen Heder was friends with my mom. They lived just around the corner from our house. I was really young when we lived in Salem and remember very little about living there. But one thing that I do remember is the Heders. Mostly because they owned a sail boat that we would go with them to a lake and sail with them. Those were really the only memories that I have of Salem.

But I recently found this picture of my brother and I with Jon, his twin brother Dan and one of their younger brothers.

I know that he probably would not remember me but I remember their family. That time on the sail boat are my earliest memories that I can actually recall.
