Big O and Dukes Chevy Volt

Today on the Big O and Dukes show they had John Hughes on the show. John Hughes is the marketing manager for the new Chevy Volt, which is expected to be out in 2010. The interview was really interesting.

I've been hearing about the Volt for at least a year now and think that it is awesome that Chevy is stepping up their game in the electric/hybrid technology.

One of the main differences that is cool about the Volt is that unlike the typical hybrid, the Volt uses an electric motor first which goes for 40 miles without using any gasoline. Then the hybrid gas engine kicks in and charges the batteries and so on. Taking into consideration that 78% of Americans drive 40 miles or less a day, this is going to be a huge way for us to take reliance off oil.
